More life, less politics

I sold my car a couple days ago. This is the first time I have been without my own means of transportation since approximately the year 2000. Though I still have the motorcycle and will get it on the road soon. Until then, I will be doing a lot of walking I assume.

It's nice to finally be able to catch up on some bills. It's unfortunate that I had to sell my car in order to do that. I want to ask something like, "where did I go wrong?" but it's too easy of an answer. I have no money management skills, and I am too much of the instant gratification type. I can't wait and plan for things that I want. I'm just not capable. Maybe I should make this a goal. Goal-making is another set of skills that I sorely lack.

I should stop complaining and just like myself more.

Cable news

I really try to watch a broad selection of cable news show since my newly acquired free 6 months of cable (after years of no television aside from what I downloaded), but the people they have on staff at MSNBC, to me, is incredible.

I love them. I really enjoy hearing their input on all things political. I just wish that I got some BBC channel for a little bit of a different perspective than what MSNBC/CNN/FOX can give.

Wow. How about number of pledged delegate count? How about number of superdelegates who have announced their support? Apparently these factors aren't important anymore (to the Clintons. Everybody else recognizes that these are actually the only measure on which a nominee is chosen.).

Not to mention the fact that she is flat out wrong.

RealClearPolitics.com gives the following data from 8 of the largest polling groups, which clearly shows Obama leading McCain in all but two polls (leading McCain in one by 8 points, and another by 11!):

So once again, what we are witnessing is the Clinton desperation that has shown it's ugly head so many times lately... Unfortunately it's not likely to end anytime soon. However, I hope they prove me wrong.

What I've Learned Today

I wish that FL and MI could have their delegates seated and counted at the DNC in August.

However...

I am so fucking sick of the Clinton campaign claiming that FL and MI must have their delegates seated and counted towards the democratic nomination.

The problem here is pretty obvious to me. FL and MI knew the rules, and yet they still chose to break them by moving their primaries ahead of Feb 5th. Clinton and Obama both, knowing the rules, agreed and made statements that they felt the rules must be upheld. They both agreed that the delegates would go uncounted should the states move their primaries.

On top of this, as was reported on DailyKos sometime last week, "Of the committee's 30 members, a near-majority of 12 were Clinton supporters. All of them—most notably strategist Harold Ickes—voted for Florida's full disenfranchisement."

I can't believe that this is still being discussed. She sealed her own fate by prematurely assuming that she would have this nomination wrapped up, and subsequently making mistake after mistake and generally running a terrible campaign.

An attempt to make some sense of things

I've been growing more concerned with politics over the past couple of years, and it feels like it's sort of getting to a point where I need to be able to tell people... to tell SOME body... all of the thoughts that I have. This may or may not be the solution that I've been looking for.

Ideally, instead of forgetting most of the things that I think about and mean to tell someone or write down later, I can just use this space to write about them.
